The Gospel Echoes Of Alpharetta

This is mostly of local Roswell Georgia / Alpharetta Georgia interest.
I found this old Gospel record from Alpharetta GA, near our hometown of Roswell at a Goodwill in Norcross.
As far as i can tell, the record, pressed by "Little" David Young in Smyrna, must be from sometime near 1968.
The record caught my eye because i don't think of Roswell/Alpharetta having a recording industry back then (or now) and two performers on the record, Martha Holcomb and Janie McGinnis have the same names as two major roads in the area. I guess the roads were named after their families.

I'LL BEAR MY CROSS

Today's world is filled with trouble and trials. Our age has been aptly named "The age of Anxiety". As some men grope through a world of darkness, searching in vain for they know not what, others walk in the light of God's love. They face the same problems and disappointmments but they have the strength and peace that Christ alone can give.

The Gospel Echoes are proud to be a part of the family of God. We are striving to carry the good news of Christ in song. We feel that God has called us to bear the cross in song. This we gladly and joyously do, not for any praise or reward except the blessings we share and the awareness of winning souls for Christ. Our primary aim is to uplift and glorify the name of Jesus. By singing, we hope to lighten the cross for all who bear one. We desire to bring joy and beautify the hope of eternal life for all who believe.

The Gospel Echoes is composed of three sisters, Myrtle Whitt, Martha Holcomb, and Janie McGinnis. Also in the group is their neice, Becky Shirley. Furnishing the back-up music for the group is Tommy Brooks on the piano and Doug Collins playing the bass guitar.

It is the sincere prayer of the Gospel Echoes that their songs will be an inspiration and blessing to those who know and love the Lord: We pray that those who do not know Christ might be impressed to seek him as their personal Savior. Then, we can join in unison, "I'll bear my cross, Lord, you bore yours for me."
