Social Studies Class

In Social Studies class, my 12-year old was required to watch the Democratic National Convention and write a report on the three historic things that happened in the convention. That was cool and we enjoyed it. I assumed when the other convention came up he'd have the same assignment for that convention. No such assignment. hmm. Then he had to write profiles on three politicians. They were all Democrats. It was a good exercise though, and I assumed he'd get a later assignment with all guys on the other side. Not yet. hmmm. Then this comes home. (see below with magnified area)

Right or wrong, is it really wise to communicate to students in this manner?

4th of July just passed. I know not all would agree. Some might even claim the opposite. But to me, these videos are proof that our soldiers are awesome, capable of operating at a level that I and many others can't even envision. I am not speaking tongue in cheek.
